Grid linepack action

Joseph Benson
Energy Markets Analyst at SSE Hornsea Ltd

Hi all.
I've been browsing the information on this website looking at grid's WD action to support the linepack. The data recording grids trades are interesting. I was wondering whether the times of each trade indicate the actual time each trade occurred, or the time that the volume was secured by?

Thanks for your comment Joseph, the data presented shows an aggregation of all trades executed in that hour bar. For example a trade executed at 21:45 would be found the hour bar labelled 22:00. Glad you're finding the information useful.

Hi all. Is the Grid trade data on this page still being updated, or was it a snapshot used for an example?

Hi Joseph the trade data provided was being used as a snapshot as an example to gain some evidence on the value of this to the industry and hence drive efficiencies to end consumers. We are looking this week to try and implement a manual upload of trade and demand data to NG.COM once a day (post day for trade data) until a system solution can be implemented. The collaboration site will continue to be used amongst other things to test new data requirements - provide snapshots of requested data for periods to establish value and need and then find the most effective way of providing this on an enduring basis.

Hi Karen. Thanks for responding. We have a couple of ideas here on how to make use of this data, I look forward to the publications as you note above.

Hi Karen, it would be handy if these message boxes had dates flagged to them. As an example where you say your looking this week to implement uploads I have no idea how old this question and subsequent response is.

Hi David thanks for your comment we have added this functionality to this site now. The previous site was a prototype site but this is now the enduring site and based on your feedback we have incorporated this.

Please be aware that an element of demand and trade data is being manually uploaded onto NG.COM under supplementary reports. We will continue doing on a reasonable endeavours basis until the full functionality is built into the core information provision system. You will also see in addition we provide linebacker swing data here.

      Hi Emma,

Apologies for the late response to this- the August data is now available. Please be aware that from the 20th we will have implemented the automated solution, where this will be available in data item explorer and APIs

      Thanks,
      Martin
